31st TN State U-7 Open and Girls Chess Championship 2018 – Report
At the very outset I would like to thank TNSCA General Secretary, Mr. Stephen for reposing faith in me and appoint me as the Chief Arbiter of this 31st TN State U-7 Chess Championship 2018.
31st TN State U-7 Open and Girls Chess Championship 2018 was organized by the ChennaiDistrict Chess Association from 06-05-2018 to 09-05-2018 at AVM Mat. Hr. Sec.School, Chennai.
Players’ meeting was held after inaugurations; Members of Appeal Committee and Reserve were appointed.
International Grand Master Shri. R.B. Ramesh the31st TN State U-7 Open and Girls Chess Championship 2018 in the presence of Mr.Muthukumar, Jt. Secretary, TNSCA, Mr.Murugavel, Vice President, TNSCA in the presence of Mr. Sakthi Prabhakar, Mr. Ganesan, Secretary, CDCA.
126 Boys and 89Girls Players from 26 districts from TN State took part in this 31st TN State U-7 Open and Girls Chess Championship 2018. Among 215 players 117 players were registered with TNSCAand others already registeredwith TNSCA.
All the rounds were played as per the schedule and throughout the tournament no dispute arose. The players co-operated to ensure a smooth run of this 31st TN State U-7 Open and Girls Chess Championship 2018
Prizes were distributed by Mr. Mohan Raja, Film Director in the Presence of Mr.D.V. Sundar, Vice President, FIDE, Mr. Stephen Balasamy, The General Secretary, TNSCA, Mr. AVM. K.Shanmugam, General Secretary, AVM Rajeswary Educational Trust, Balasubramanian V, VP, Corporate Communication, The Indian Cements Ltd., Mr. Ravishankar, Tresurer, Lions Club of Nungambakkam, Mr. Murugavel, VP, TNSCA and Balachandra Datta, VP corporate Affairs, Hyundai Motors
I will not be pardoned if I fail to thank Mr. Mr. Ganesan, Secretary, CDCA, Ravikumar, IAand others for their help and hospitality.
All the pairings were done by pairing Software Swiss Manager.
In the final round in U-7Boys section Adharsh K from Chennai defeated AditKiruba Raj M from Madurai and became TN State U-7(Open) Champion.
In U-7 Girls section Lakshana Subramanian fromSivagangai defeated Shwetha VS fromKanchipuram and became TN State U-7(Girls) Champion
